How to vote on topics and replies in Jetonomy, step by step, from the member side: find the vote arrows, upvote a topic and undo it, vote on replies, sort a space by Popular, and see the reputation votes earn.
In this tutorial you will vote on topics and replies in Jetonomy, and see what your votes do. You need a member account on a site that runs the free Jetonomy plugin. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Find the vote arrows. Vote on a topic, and undo it. Vote on replies. Find the most voted topics. Then see the reputation votes earn. Step one. Sign in and open a space. Every topic in the list has an up arrow, a down arrow, and its score between them. The score is the upvotes minus the downvotes. Step two. Vote on a topic. Open it. The same arrows sit under the first post. This topic has a score of two. Click the up arrow. The score goes up by one at once, with no page reload. To undo it, click the same arrow again. Your vote is removed, and the score goes back. Click the down arrow for a downvote. You get one vote on each topic. Clicking the other arrow switches it. Step three. Vote on replies. Scroll down. Every reply has its own arrows and its own score. Above the replies, click Best to put the highest voted reply first. Step four. Find the most voted topics. Back in the space, click Popular. The list is now sorted by score, highest first. The Trending card beside the list favours recent topics that are getting votes and replies. Step five. See the reputation votes earn. Each vote changes the author's reputation, and the Leaderboard ranks members by it. By default an upvote on a topic gives its author ten points, and an upvote on a reply gives five. A downvote takes away two. The site owner can change these numbers. That is all five. The vote arrows found, a topic voted on and the vote undone, replies voted on, the most voted topics found, and reputation seen. Your votes now help the best answers rise.
