Pick the community journey
your members need.

Jetonomy ships five distinct space types. Each is a different member experience: forum threads, Q&A with accepted answers, ideas with voting, visual Show & Tell, social feed. Most plugins give you a generic forum. Jetonomy lets you pick the right shape for the conversation you want.

  • 5space types built in
  • 24custom DB tables
  • 48+REST API endpoints
  • <200mspage loads at 50k topics

The five shapes

Each space type produces a different shape of content.

Same plugin, five space types. What members post + how they engage changes per type. Here is what each one actually looks like.

From both sides

What members see. What admins see.

Members get a clean reading + posting surface. Admins get a single moderation queue and an automatic trust system that grows with the community.

Why does the trust level not promote my member?

asked by @mod_chris · 4 hours ago · trust-levels

My moderator gave a member 10 helpful replies, all marked as accepted answers, but they are still at trust 1. What am I missing?

Trust 2 requires sustained activity over time, not just accepted answers. Check Settings → Trust Levels → minimum days active. Default is 15.

Also worth checking the activity-decay setting - if the member was inactive for a week, their score drops back.

Trust level progression

  1. New Read + post in open spaces
  2. Basic + Mentions, links, image upload
  3. Regular + Flag content, edit own posts
  4. Member + Edit others titles, close duplicates
  5. Trusted + Hide spam without mod approval
  6. Leader + Full moderation queue access

The member side and admin side share the same database but render two completely different surfaces. Members never see the queue. Admins barely touch the front end. Read how each journey plays out →

Built on modern WordPress

The architecture matters as much as the features.

Most WordPress forum plugins store discussions in wp_posts and force everything through generic CPTs. Jetonomy uses dedicated tables, the WP Interactivity API, and an adapter pattern designed for sites that need to scale and customize.

  • Custom database tables

24 dedicated tables. Scales to 50,000+ topics without bloating wp_posts or slowing your main site.

  • Trust levels 0-5

Members earn moderation abilities automatically based on contribution quality. The community moderates itself.

  • WP Interactivity API

No jQuery, no React bundle. Real-time voting and inline editing without page reloads.

  • Theme integration via CSS vars

Adapts to your theme colors and fonts automatically. Works with BuddyX, Reign, GeneratePress, Astra.

  • 48+ REST API endpoints

90+ in Pro. Build custom frontends, mobile apps, or integrations without touching plugin code.

  • Adapter pattern for everything

Swap search providers, email senders, membership integrations. No core code changes needed.

  • One-click importers

Move from bbPress, wpForo, or Asgaros. Topics, replies, users, metadata. Without rebuilding.

  • 5 membership integrations

MemberPress, LearnDash, Restrict Content Pro, WooCommerce Memberships, Paid Memberships Pro.

  • Sub-200ms page loads

At 50,000 topics with Redis. Benchmarked, not marketed.

Common questions

Quick answers before you install.

Is Jetonomy free?

Yes. The free plugin runs a complete community: 5 space types, trust levels, voting, accepted answers, search, notifications, moderation, importers. No SaaS fees. Pro adds reactions, private messaging, polls, badges, analytics, custom fields, and email digests.

Does it require BuddyPress?

No. Jetonomy is fully standalone. Works with any theme. BuddyPress integration is available if you already run a BuddyPress community.

Can I migrate from bbPress / wpForo?

Yes. One-click importers for bbPress, wpForo, and Asgaros. Topics, replies, users, attachments, and basic metadata all move over. Old URLs can be redirected to preserve SEO.

How much does Pro cost?

Pro starts at $69/year (Personal, 1 site) or $199/year (Agency, unlimited sites). Lifetime tiers available. Every Pro purchase includes a 30-day money-back guarantee.

What does Pro add?

Reactions, private messaging, polls, custom badges, custom fields, advanced moderation, email digest, analytics dashboard, SEO Pro, site-wide announcements, and 40+ additional REST endpoints.

Will it slow down my main site?

No. Jetonomy uses 24 custom database tables, not wp_posts. The forum scales independently. Benchmarked at sub-200ms page loads with 50,000 topics on Redis-backed hosting.

How do I gate spaces by membership?

Five built-in integrations: MemberPress, LearnDash, Restrict Content Pro, WooCommerce Memberships, Paid Memberships Pro. Per-space access rules are visual, no code.

Can my developers customize the UI?

48+ REST endpoints (90+ Pro), template override system, adapter pattern for swapping providers, and CSS custom properties for theming. Built for developers who build for clients.
