Transcript

In this tutorial you will save a topic as a draft in Jetonomy, and schedule one to publish later. You need a member account on a site that runs the free Jetonomy plugin. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Start a topic. Save it as a draft. Schedule it for later. Find your drafts. Then open a scheduled topic. Step one. Start a topic. Open a space and click New Topic. Type a title for it. Then write your content in the box under it, as you would for any topic. Step two. Save it as a draft. The Post Topic button has a small arrow beside it. Click the arrow. A menu opens with three choices: Publish now, Save as draft, and Schedule. Click Save as draft. The main button now reads Save Draft. Click that, and the topic is stored without being published. Nobody is notified. Step three. Schedule it for later. Click the arrow again, and choose Schedule. A Publish on box appears. Pick a date, an hour and a minute. The time is in the site's timezone, and it must be in the future. The main button now reads Schedule. Click it, and Jetonomy publishes the topic by itself at that time. Step four. Find your drafts. Open My drafts. It is your community address, followed by drafts. Drafts and scheduled topics are both listed here. They do not show in the space, in search, or in its topic count. Step five. Open a scheduled topic from that list. A notice at the top says when it will publish, and that it is hidden from the community until then. To move it, pick a new date and time under Change the publish time, and click Save time. Cancel schedule takes the date off, and the topic stays a draft. This tutorial clicks neither. That is all five. A topic started, saved as a draft, scheduled for later, found in My drafts, and opened while it waits. Your topics now go out when you choose. Next in this series: Pin, close and move topics.
