In this tutorial you will pin, close, move, merge and split topics in Jetonomy. You need the free Jetonomy plugin, and an administrator account, or a moderator or admin role in the space. It takes about three minutes. There are six steps. Open More options. Pin a topic. Close a topic. Move or merge a topic. Split a reply. Then see a closed topic as a member. Step one. On your site, open a topic. Under the first post, the three dots are More options. Click them. Moderators get the full list: Edit, Make Private, Pin to space, Close topic, Move, Merge and Delete. As the site owner, you also get Admin. Step two. Pin a topic. Click Pin to space, and the topic stays at the top of this space, whichever sort is chosen. Here is a space with one pinned topic. It carries a Pinned label. You can pin up to three topics in a space, and Unpin from space is in the same menu. Step three. Close a topic. Click Close topic, and nobody can add a reply. Everything already written stays readable. A closed topic shows a Closed label. Moderators can still reply, and the same menu has Reopen topic. Step four. Move a topic that was posted in the wrong space. Click Move, pick the right space from the list, and click Move again. Its replies and votes go with it. For a duplicate, use Merge. It moves this topic's replies into the topic you choose, and puts this one in the trash. Step five. Split a reply that starts a new conversation. Every reply has its own three dots. Click them, then Split to Topic, and give the new topic a title. Step six. Now see a closed topic as a member. Amina gets the Closed label, and no moderator menu. At the foot of the topic, the reply box is gone. A notice says the topic is closed and no longer accepts replies. That is all six. More options opened, a topic pinned, a topic closed, a topic moved or merged, a reply split, and a closed topic seen as a member. Your spaces now stay tidy as they grow. Next in this series: Use private topics and prefixes.
