In this tutorial you will organise your Jetonomy spaces with categories. You need the free Jetonomy plugin, and an administrator account. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open Categories. Add a category. Nest and order categories. Put a space in a category. Then see the categories as a member. Step one. In your WordPress admin, open Jetonomy, then Categories. A category is a section that groups related spaces. The table shows each one, how many spaces it holds, and who can see it. Step two. Use the Add New Category form on the left. Type a name. The slug is made for you. Add a description, then choose Visibility. Public is for everyone. Private is for signed-in members. Hidden hides the category, and every space inside it. Scroll down the form. Pick an icon, and a colour with Select Color. Then click Add Category. Step three. To make a sub-category, set Parent Category. Categories nest two levels deep, and no further. To change the order, drag the handle at the left of a row. The new order saves when you drop it. Step four. A category shows nothing until spaces are filed in it. Open Spaces, click Edit under a space, and choose its Category. Then scroll to the bottom and click Update Space. A space sits in one category at a time. Step five. Now see it as a member. On the community home, each category is a section, with its spaces under it. Click a category name to open its own page, with only the spaces filed there. That is all five. Categories opened, a category added, nesting and order set, a space filed, and the result seen as a member. Your community home is now sorted into clear sections.
