In this tutorial you will change the settings of one space in Jetonomy, without touching the rest of your community. You need the free Jetonomy plugin, and an administrator account. It takes about three minutes. There are six steps. Open the space's Settings tab. Hold new topics for approval. Turn voting on or off. Set Topics Per Page. Invite people with a link. Then see the space as a member. Step one. In your WordPress admin, open Jetonomy, then Spaces. Click Edit under a space, then open its Settings tab. Everything on this tab applies to this space only. It overrides your global defaults. Step two. Hold new topics for approval. Tick Require Approval, and new topics and replies in this space wait until a moderator approves them. It is off by default. The moderators and admins of the space are never held. Step three. Turn voting on or off. Allow Voting is ticked by default, so members can vote topics and replies up or down. Untick it, and nobody can vote in this space. Step four. Set Topics Per Page. It is how many topics the space lists before a second page starts. Type any number from one to one hundred. Leave it empty and the space uses your global setting, which is twenty unless you changed it. Then click Save Settings. Step five. Invite people with a link. Open the Members tab of the same space, and scroll down to Invite Links. Max uses is how many people can use the link. Zero means no limit. Expires is optional. Leave it blank and the link never expires. Then click Generate invite link. Each link you make is listed below, with how many times it has been used. This space has none yet. Step six. Now see the space as a member. Voting is on here, so Diego has an up arrow and a down arrow beside every topic. And the list shows up to twenty topics, because this space uses the global setting. That is all six. The Settings tab opened, approval, voting and Topics Per Page set, an invite link explained, and the space seen as a member. This space now runs by its own rules. Next in this series: Add a moderator to a space.
