How to see who is online in Jetonomy, step by step: spot the green dot on a reply, know what counts as online, check the Top Members card, and see when each member was last in the community.
In this tutorial you will see who is online in a Jetonomy community. You need the free Jetonomy plugin. There is nothing to turn on. The last step needs an administrator account. It takes about two minutes. There are four steps. Spot the green dot. Know what counts as online. Check the Top Members card. Then see when a member was last here. Step one. Spot the green dot. Open a topic and look at the replies. A green dot on the picture of the author means that member is online. A picture with no dot, like this one, means the member is not here right now. The dot is on replies. The author of the topic itself, topic lists and search results do not carry it. Step two. Know what counts as online. Jetonomy notes the time whenever a signed-in member opens a page of the community. A member is online for five minutes after that. The dot can lag by about a minute. There is no switch to appear offline, and visitors who are not signed in are never tracked. Step three. Check the Top Members card. In the community sidebar, the Top Members card shows the same dot beside anyone on it who is online. On a site with Jetonomy alone, the dot is also on the profile page of the member. On this site the profile page belongs to BuddyNext, so the Jetonomy dot is not shown there. Step four. See when a member was last here. As the site owner, open Jetonomy, then Users, in your WordPress admin. The last column is Last Seen. It shows how long ago each member last opened the community while signed in. Never means the member has not opened the community yet. That is all four. The green dot spotted, what counts as online, the Top Members card checked, and the Last Seen column found.
