Transcript

In this tutorial you will open a Jetonomy space to the students of a Learnomy course. You need Jetonomy Pro, the Learnomy course plugin, and an administrator account. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Check Learnomy is found. Open the Access Rules of a space. Choose the course. Set what students can do. Then make spaces for new courses. Step one. Check Learnomy is found. In your WordPress admin, open Jetonomy, then Settings, then Integrations. Jetonomy Pro adds a box here, Membership Integrations. In its table, Learnomy reads Active. There is nothing to connect by hand. Pro links to Learnomy as soon as both plugins are active. Step two. Open the Access Rules of a space. Open Jetonomy, then Spaces, click Edit on the space, and open the tab Access Rules. This space is Insiders Beta, a private space. A rule lets more people in. Use a private space when only students should get in. Step three. Choose the course. Under Add Access Rule, open the first list. With Learnomy active it has a new choice, Learnomy. Select it. A search box appears beside it. Start typing the name of the course. Each match says what it is, such as Learnomy Course or Learnomy Membership. Click the course you want. Step four. Set what students can do. The second list is what the rule grants. Read lets them in to read. Participate, the usual choice, adds posting, replying and voting. Full only matters for people who can already moderate. Then click Add Rule. From that moment, anyone enrolled in the course can open the space, and a student who leaves the course loses it again. Nothing has to be kept in step by hand. Step five. Make spaces for new courses. Back on the Integrations tab, the box Auto-Create Spaces for Courses does all of this for you. Tick When a new Learnomy LMS course is published, create its own space. Each course you publish after that gets a private space with a rule for its own students. For a course that already exists, use the Discussion switch in that course's editor. Then click Save Settings. That is all five. Learnomy found, the Access Rules of a space opened, the course chosen, the access set, and spaces arranged for new courses. Your students now have a place to talk that follows their enrolment. Next in this series: Add a companion plugin.
