How to Move Around Without Page Reloads in Jetonomy

How to move around a Jetonomy community without page reloads, step by step: open a space in place, use the community bar, go back and forward, and know which pages load in full.

In this tutorial you will move around a Jetonomy community without page reloads. You need Jetonomy, which is free. There is nothing to turn on. It takes about two minutes. There are four steps. Open a space in place. Use the community bar. Go back and forward. Then know what loads in full. Step one. Open a space in place. This is the community home, with its bar on top: Community, Search, Leaderboard and My Profile. Below it are the spaces. Click a space, here Show and Tell. The browser does not load a new page. Jetonomy fetches the space and swaps it into the middle, while the bar above stays where it is. Step two. Use the community bar. The links in the bar work the same way. Click Leaderboard, and the ranking takes the place of the space. Click Search, and the search page takes its place in turn. Each time, the address in the browser changes too, so every view can be bookmarked or shared. Step three. Go back and forward. First, one move, from this space to the Leaderboard. Now the Back button of the browser. It returns to Show and Tell, again without a reload. Forward works the same. You do not lose your place in the history. Step four. Know what loads in full. Two kinds of page are loaded the normal way, because their editor needs a clean start. One is a topic. Click a title and the whole page loads. The other is the New Topic form. Links that leave the community, such as a member profile on this site, load in full as well. Every link is a normal link underneath, so nothing breaks if scripts are switched off. That is all four. A space opened in place, the community bar used, back and forward tried, and the two full page loads known.
