Transcript

In this tutorial you will handle member reports in the Jetonomy moderation queue. You need the free Jetonomy plugin, and an administrator account, or a role that is allowed to moderate. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open Moderation. Read a report on the Flags tab. Choose Uphold or Dismiss. See how a member reports. Then check the count on the Dashboard. Step one. In your WordPress admin, open Jetonomy, then Moderation. Four tabs carry a count. Pending Topics and Pending Replies hold content waiting for approval. Flags holds what members reported. Banned Users lists current bans. Step two. Read a report on the Flags tab. Each row names the topic or reply, the reason, the note the reporter wrote, and who reported it. Reported content stays visible in the community until you decide. Click the link in the first column to read it in place. Step three. Each row has two buttons. Uphold and trash means the report was right. The content goes to the trash, and the flag is closed. Dismiss means the report was not justified. The content stays live, and the flag is closed. Either way the row leaves the list at once, with no page reload. The count on the tab is lower the next time you open it. Step four. Now see it as a member. This is where reports come from. Every topic and every reply has a Report button, the small flag. Click it, and a box asks why. The member picks a reason, can add details, and clicks Report. The reply stays up, and the report lands on your Flags tab. Step five. Check your work on the Dashboard, which administrators can open. The Pending Flags card shows how many reports are still open. When it reads zero, the queue is clear. Until then, Review flags takes you straight back to the list. That is all five. Moderation opened, a report read, Uphold or Dismiss chosen, the member side seen, and the count checked on the Dashboard. You can now clear every report from one screen.
