Transcript

In this tutorial you will turn on a Pro extension in Jetonomy. You need Jetonomy Pro, active beside the free Jetonomy plugin, and an administrator account. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Check your license. Open Extensions. Turn an extension on. Find what it added. Then know what off does. Step one. Check your license. In your WordPress admin, open Jetonomy, then Settings, and click License in the settings menu. Jetonomy Pro adds this tab. Before a key is entered, the tab has a License Key field and a button, Activate License. This site is activated already, so it shows the result: Status, Plan and Expires. The key is hidden in this recording. Any valid license unlocks every extension. Without one, extensions keep running for thirty days, then stop loading until a key is active. Nothing they stored is deleted. Deactivate License takes the key off this site, so leave it alone. Step two. Open Extensions. In the Jetonomy menu, click Extensions. Jetonomy Pro comes with seventeen, each on a card with its name, its group, what it does, and a switch. On a new site every switch is off, and the feature does nothing until you turn it on. The buttons above the cards narrow the list to one group. Here, Engagement. Step three. Turn an extension on. Find its card. The one called AI is off: its switch is grey. Click the switch. There is no Save button. The page reloads with the message Extension settings updated, and the feature is live from that moment. You need to be an administrator for the switch to work. A card that is on has a green edge and a green switch, like Reactions here. This tutorial does not click a switch. Step four. Find what it added. An extension puts its own screens into the admin. Reactions adds a tab called Reactions to Jetonomy Settings, under Advanced. Others add an item to the Jetonomy menu. Polls adds one called Polls. Each later tutorial in this series names the extension it needs, and where its screen is. Step five. Know what off does. Click a green switch and the extension stops at once. Its buttons leave your community and its screens leave the admin. What members made with it is kept, and returns when you turn it on again. One card may have no switch. This site also runs MediaVerse, which handles all private messages, so Private Messaging reads Dormant. That is all five. Your license checked, Extensions opened, an extension turned on, its screens found, and what off does. You now know where every Pro feature is turned on. Next in this series: Add a poll to a topic.
