Transcript

In this tutorial you will set up automatic moderation rules in Jetonomy. You need Jetonomy Pro, with its Advanced Moderation extension turned on. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Turn on Advanced Moderation. Name the rule and pick a type. Write the pattern. Choose the action and the scope. Then manage your rules. Step one. Turn on Advanced Moderation. In your WordPress admin, open Jetonomy, then Extensions. Advanced Moderation is the first card. Turn its switch on. It is on already here, so this tutorial does not click it. Until you add a rule, the extension changes nothing. Step two. Name the rule and pick a type. Open Jetonomy, then Moderation, and click the new tab, Auto-Rules. Type a Name. Members never see it. Type has five choices: Keyword Filter, Regex Pattern, Link Limit, New User Restriction and Spam Score. Step three. Write the pattern. For a Keyword Filter, type words or phrases with commas between them. A match is found as a whole word or phrase, in the title or the text, in capitals or not. A word inside a longer word does not count. Change the type and the Pattern box changes with it. Link Limit takes a number. The rule matches when a post has more links than that. New User Restriction takes a trust level, and matches members below it. Spam Score takes a threshold. Each link adds two points, and each keyword rule that matches adds three. An account under a day old adds five, and a member with no posts adds three. Step four. Choose the action and the scope. Action has four choices. Flag for Review publishes the post and reports it to the Flags tab. Hold for Approval keeps it pending until a moderator approves it. Block refuses the post, and tells the member it was blocked by your content policy. Mark as Spam stores it as spam, out of sight. When several rules match, the hardest action wins. Scope is every space, or one space you pick. Then click Save Rule. Rules check every new topic, every reply and every edit, from every author, moderators and you included. Older posts are not checked again. Step five. Manage your rules. Saved rules are listed under Active Rules. Hits counts every time a rule has matched. These three are new, so they read zero. Scope reads Global for a rule that covers every space. A rule for one space shows the name of that space, here Billing and Accounts. Edit loads the rule into the form. Disable switches it off and keeps it. Delete removes it for good, after asking you to confirm. This tutorial clicks none of them. That is all five. Advanced Moderation turned on, a rule named and typed, its pattern written, its action and scope chosen, and your rules managed. Your rules now check every post before a moderator has to.
